Mrs. Wiggins died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 18, 1994 in the Oakdale Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Oakdale, she was a charter member and one of the founders of Mt. Hope Baptist Church. She instituted and drove the first school bus route to the Ballard Community. She also established the first lunch room in the Oakdale schools.
Survivors are two daughters, Ruth McDaniel of Oakdale, and Joyce Ponder of Natchitoches; two sons, Shelly Wiggins of Many, and James D. Wiggins of Lake Charles; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
