Sam Bradley was the brother of MARY BRADLEY, the wife of John Albro.

Samuel H. Bradley died at his home in Medina about 10 o'clock a.m., Tuesday, December 10. His death came as a shock to this whole community.

S.H. Bradley was born in Bladford, Mass., September 24, 1818, and lived there 17 years. He was one of three chldren born to his parents. In 1835, the family moved to Maumee City, O., coming with the family of JOHN ALBRO, who was the uncle of Mr. Bradley and the father of the venerable Harvey Albro of this town.

In 1836, they came to Medina where his father formed a partnership in the cabinet manufactuirng business, the firm being Blair & Bradley. Mr. Bradley engaged his time in clerking in the general merchandise business until 1840, when he went to Cincinnati as helper in the store of Messrs. Albro & Company, with whom he remained one year. He then returned to Medina, and [on 20 Nov 1842]...married Miss Maria L. McClure.

She was born in New York and came to Ohio with her parents about the year 1828. After the marriage, he kept the American House [hotel] in Mediana and, in the spring of 1843, he moved to Litchfield, where he kept hotel until the summer of 1844. He then engaged in the livery business in Tiffin, and, in 1845, he came to Medina and served as deputy auditor for four years.

In the fall of 1848, he was elected auditor, and was re-elected in 1850. In 1853 he became a member of the partnership of Bradley & Boult, the latter being at the time auditor; but he officieated in the store, and Mr. Bradley acted as auditor. In 1857, Mr. Bradley bought Mr. Boult's interest in the business and, 1861, he sold out to Messrs. E.G. and E. J. Fenn. [He then] bought out the hardware business of H. W. Brown, and successfully conducted that business till he sold it...in 1866, he himself retiring from active life.

There were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bradley two children, a son, John A., now in California, and a daughter, Fannie M., who was drowned when a little girl in 1864. His devoted wife...died in 1893. Three grandchildren, Samuel S. Bradley of New York, Miss Jane Bradley with her mother in New York city, and Mrs. Fannie Schumacher of Millington, N.J., who suvive him, always shared his love and devotion. --The Akron Beacon Journal (Akron, Ohio); Saturday, 14 Dec 1901; pg. 8
