Services for Mr. Robert Batise, Sr. will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at The St. James United People Church, 1008 Berry Street, Pineville, with the Rev. Moses Roland and Rev. Bennie Edison officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthews BC Cemetery, Boyce under the direction of Boyce Community Funeral Home.
Mr. Batise, 75, of Alexandria, died July 24, 2011 at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria.
He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Phyllis Batise; one son, Melvin W. Batise; two daughters, Frances Edison Campbell and Barbara A. Batise; eight brothers.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Bessie K. Batise; daughters, Mrs. Patricia A. Jacobs, Mrs. Mary J. Flemon, Mrs. Diane Allen and Mrs. Betty B. Penden; sons, James D. Edison, Robert L. Edison, Bennie R. Edison, Steve K. Edison, MIchael W. Edison, Robert Batise, Jr., Ronald W. Batise, Bobby Batise, Michael Batise, Michael King, and Arthur Batise; forty one grandchildren; eighty four great grandchildren.
