William Carson Bowen

William Carson Bowen, 84, of Marion, N.C. passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at Sunrise Rehabilitation & Care in Nebo.

He was born May 5, 1927 in Cleveland County to the late Bynum Richard and Mary Sue Hawkins Bowen.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. William will be truly missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Bowen, and two granddaughters, Twonia Duncan and Darla Bowen.

Saddened by this loss are his wife, Evelyn Ratcliff Bowen of Marion; four children, Benny Bowen and his wife, Trudy of Marion, Nancy Parker and her husband, Robert of Rock Hill, S.C., Debbie Perkins and Scotty Bowen and his wife, Debbie, both of Marion; one daughter-in-law, Darlene Bowen; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

A graveside service for William will be held at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
