She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Mariah Hale Smith born on September 24, 1924 in Knox County. Mrs. Mills was the former owner and operator of several local restaurants.
In December 1941, she united in marriage with Reed P. Mills in Knox County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Reed, on January 7, 1972;
Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, October 28 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W.B. Bingham officiating.
Burial followed in the Henry Mills Cemetery at Dewitt. Knox Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Charity was the 4th cousin 2x's removed of Lee Smith.
