She was born July 12, 1931, at Farmington, the daughter of Ralph and Elma Burns Hopper. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Yates; and a son, Doug Smith.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters, Sandy Knickerbocker of Farmington, Delores Gross of Bella Vista, Diane Freet of Hot Springs and Gail Simms of Oklahoma; three sons, Rufus Junior Smith of California, Allen Smith of West Fork and Ronnie Yates of Fayetteville; two sisters, Peggy Humphrey of California and Patsy Workman of California; two brothers, Glenn Wirick of California and Gene Hopper of Waldron, Ark.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Campbell Cemetery at West Fork, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
There will be no visitation.
