Cynthia Ann ARCHER
Cynthia Ann ARCHER, daughter of Martin and Celia Ann ARCHER, born October 8, 1857 near Cardwell in Noble County, Ohio. She departed this life Saturday at three o'clock September 8, 1942, aged 84 years, 11 months and 14 days.

She moved to Jackson County at the age of 22, where she lived the remaining 62 years of her life. She was united in marriage to Albert ARCHER, who died 50 years ago. To this union were born four children: Stella OTT, of Parkersburg; Ollie GRITH (CRITE ?) and Pearl VAN FOSSIN, of Sandyville; and Elsie, who died in infancy. Of her three sisters and seven brothers the following are still living: Morris ARCHER, of near Columbus, Ohio; Michael ARCHER, of Sandyville, and Robert ARCHER, of Parkersburg.

She has the following grandchildren: Velma LOCKHART, now dead; Delbert KELBAUGH, of Lime Stone; Cecil KELBAUGH, of Parkersburg; Eleanor GRIFFITH, of Sandyville; Edmund KELBAUGH, of Parkersburg; Lloyd KELBAUGH, a soldier in Georgia; Dale VAN FOSSIN, a soldier in Australia and Glen VAN FOSSIN, a soldier in South America. She joined the Lockhart church many years ago and spent her life helping others. The funeral was conducted by Rev. J. F. CALTRIDER of Sandyville. The remains were laid to rest in the Pleasant Ridge cemetery. (Jackson Herald, Fri., 18 Sept 1942)

Mrs. Cynthia Ann ARCHER, aged 84, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Joe VAN FOSSEN on Pleasant Ridge, near Lockhart, WV., Saturday afternoon at three o'clock, following an illness of several years. Mrs. ARCHER was born October 8, 1857, in Noble County, Ohio, daughter of Martin and Celia ARCHER. She was married to Albert ARCHER, who died 50 years ago.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Stella HAUGHT, of Vienna, Mrs. Olive GRIFFITH, and Mrs. Pearl VAN FOSSEN, of Sandyville and seven grandchildren. Services were held at the Pleasant Ridge church Sunday afternoon at three o'clock and interment was in the adjoining cemetery by the side of her late husband. Lawrence M. FORD of Crow Summit was the funeral director. (Jackson Herald, Fri., 18 Sept 1942)
