Effie Brake Adams was a daughter of Irving "Cowboy" Brake and Melinda Jane Gill. She was very close with her five sisters,Elvia , Esther, Estelle, Eula, and Beulah. Effie was the wife of Durwood Adams of Coffee County, Alabama. They were married in 1925. Effie was the mother of three sons, two daughters, and grandmother of nineteen. She was a loving mother and wife, a great sister, and was always known to be dressed "to the nines". She was loved by all that knew her, and will always be remembered.
