Joseph LaBarge, 87, died Thursday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Barton, Norfolk.
Mr. LaBarge came to this village many years ago. He was born March 15, 1850 in Malone.
After his marriage he resided at Cooks Corners, where he was postmaster. He was a blacksmith and buttermaker by trade and conducted these businesses, while at Cooks Corners. His wife died 11 years ago.
For a number of years he managed a hotel, which he built in Raymondville near the paper mill.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James Barton, Mrs. Samuel Sharlow; three sons, Charles, William and Frank; one brother, Levi LaBarge.
Funeral services were held from the Church of the Visitation with interment in the parish cemetery.
