Elizabeth Buehrer was born January 13, 1854 in Maltrdingen, Baden Germany. She was the daughter of Johann Mikel and Maria Magdalena Buehrer. Elizabeth married August D. Schmidt, November 25, 1873 in Chicago, Illinois. Venturing west Eliza and August settled in Walkerville, Montana. Eliza died, November 2, 1898 while in San Francisco visiting family. Her body was returned to Butte Montana for burial. Left to mourn her were two daughters Emma 16, Lucy 6, her husband August and a large extended family.
