Myna Poppen

Myna Poppen, 92, of Sioux Center died Saturday, March 16, at a nursing home in Sioux Center.

Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Central Reformed Church with the Rev. Dennis Wilcox officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The former Myna Borgman was born March 14, 1899, in Sioux Center. She married William Vander Ploeg June 1, 1937, in Fairview, South Dakota. He died December 21, 1944. She married John Poppen May 9, 1951. He died May 22, 1974. She was a lifelong member of Reformed Church Women.

Survivors include stepchildren, Thelma Pott of Sheldon, Henrietta Bolthuis of Ripon, California, Chasper Vander Ploeg of Hospers, Henry Vander Ploeg of Paullina, Robert A. Vander Ploeg of Ada, Michigan, Dorothy Bomgaars-of, Sioux Center, Marcella Poppen of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, Charlotte Peterman of Neshanic Station, New Jersey, and the Rev. Alvin Poppen of Oakland, New Jersey; a brother, Melvin Borgman of Orange City; 37 stepgrandchildren; 58 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-greatgrandchildren.
