LEE, MRS. IRIS CLARKE, of Central Park, AL went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2008. She was born and raised in Newport, New Hampshire and moved to Central Park in 1953. There she raised her three children and took care of her husband until his death in 2002. She loved the South but was proud to be a Yankee. She adored her children and took great pride in her role as their Mother. She volunteered as often as needed at the Central Park Elementary School while her children attended there. She faithfully attended and dutifully volunteered at the Central Park United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Ladies Circle and assisted with the Treasury duties, among many other church activities. She enjoyed serving at the Good Old Boys of Central Park reunion dinners. She reveled in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Iris was preceded in death by her husband, Donald (Doug) Lee. She is survived by three children and their spouses, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, She was preceded in death by her brother Ross Clarke (N.H.) and is survived by three brothers: Dean Clarke (Bremen, AL), Brandt Clarke (Hoover,AL), and Graham Clarke (N.H.). She loved her many nieces and nephews and will be missed by the entire Clarke and Lee families. Our joy is in the promise of being with her again in Heaven through our Lord Jesus Christ. A memorial service will be held the Central Park United Methodist Church on Friday, April 11th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, Iris would have preferred a memorial donation to the Central Park United Methodist Church, 4616 Terrace R Birmingham, AL 35208.
