Raymond Lee Wollam, 85, of Williamsport, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Valley View Nursing Center.
He was born October 17, 1925 in Ardara, Pa., the son of Heber and Martha Lentz Wollam.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict, he served for 22 years and retired as a Commander.
Raymond was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and sang in the choir and with the Civic Chorus.
Raymond was a member of the Habitat for Humanity for 12 years, Meals on Wheels and served on the board of Lycoming Historical Society.He worked United Airlines Flight Safety in Chicago and the Grumman Aerospace, Fairchild Republic on Long Island and then moved to Williamsport in 1991. Raymond is survived by his wife Carol and five daughters, Lisa (Vincent) Strohsnitter of Deluth, Ga., Molly Wollam of Applegate, Calif., Betsy (John) Taube, Orland, Pa., Sandra Kource of Columbia, Md., Kathy Tidwell of Catonsville, Md.; seven grandchildren; three brothers, H. Nevin Wollam of Greensburg, Pa., John Stanley Wollam of Falmouth, Mass. and E. Donald Wollam of Seattle, Wash. Predeceased by a daughter, Linda Alfonso and a sister, Jean Banasik. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 102 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or the Habitat for Humanity, 540 Lycoming St., Williamsport, PA 17701.Relatives and friends are invited to Raymond's Memorial Life Celebration, 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church. A visitation will be from 10 until 11. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd. "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W.
