Brunswick - Mertice C. Ryals, age 92,and formerly of Townsend, died April 30, 2004 at the local hospital. A native of Long County, she had made her home in Brunswick for the past 23 years. She was a member of Middleton Memorial Methodist Church in Long County and attended First Baptist Church in Brunswick. Surviving are two sons, Murray Ryals and wife Rebecca, Jacksonville, FL and Allen Ryals, Brunswick; a daughter, Jane R. Sellers and husband Ken, Green Cove Springs, FL; two granddaughters, Susan S. Tardiff, Green Cove Springs, FL and Sandra S. Oliphant, Charlotte, NC; three nieces; three nephews. Mrs. Ryals was preceded in death by her husband, W. A. Ryals, six sisters and a daughter -in-law, Peggy Stroud Ryals. Visitation: 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Brunswick with Dr. Harold Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Wayfarer Cemetery in McIntosh County . Pallbearers will be Dewaine Tidwell, Larry Yawn, Dale Yawn, Barry Wood, Eric Oliphant and Dr. Billy Weeks. Honorary pallbearers will be Cleary Davis and Bradley Baker.
