Rosella Bennett Berry was born to Leonard Becton Bennett and Lola Belle Dear on July 9, 1937 and lived her entire life in Harrisville, Mississippi. Rosie had two sisters, Ethel Mae Bennett Byrd married to Austin N. "Jack" Byrd and Ada Belle Bennett Conrad married to Charles Conrad; and two brothers, Julius Leon Bennett and James David Bennett.
She attended Hopewell School and Harrisville School. Upon graduation from Harrisville High School in 1955, she married Prior Duncan Berry on May 14, 1955. They were blessed with four children: Larry Keith Berry, George Duncan Berry, Tammy Louise Berry Park and Billy Dewayne Berry. Later came four grandchildren: Ashley Lynn Berry, Kristy Ann Berry, Eric Dewayne Berry and Michaela Abigail Park.
