Mrs. Ida Dunlap, 69, Dies Following Long Illness

After several months of lingering illness due to complications, Mrs. Ida Dunlap, 69 years old and a well known Parke County citizen, died at her home here on Saturday morning at 2:15 o'clock.
Mrs. Dunlap has lived in Montezuma all her life, the town of her birth. A successful business woman, she worked side by side with her husband who for years owned and operated the Dunlap hotel. Her many acts of kindness to the people with whom she came in contact had endeared her to the entire community. She will be greatly missed, but held in loving memory by her many friends and those to whom her unselfish ministrations had brought comfort and relief.
She was born January 3, 1868 the daughter of John and Albertina Arn.
She was wedded to David I. Dunlap on September 24th, 1885 and to this uion was born four children, Mrs. W. P. Montgomery, Montezuma; John Dunlap of Montgomery, Alabama; Mrs. R. W. Sutton, South Bend, and Thomas J. Dunlap who preceeded her in death on March 13, 1926.
Her husband passed away January 11, 1932.
She was member of the Montezuma Presbyterian church and the Industrial Society. Also the Parke County War Mothers Association.
Besides the immediate family she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Corkery of Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Ann Rusch of Montezuma, two brothers, Frank Arn of Montezuma and Sam Arn of Montgomery, Alabama. Five grandchildren also survive. They are Elinor, Ann, and David Dunlap, Jack Sutton and Mrs. Ellis Zehr.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:15 o'clock on Monday afternoon from the W. P. Montgomery residence. Rev. W. F. Smith of Rockville officiated and Clyde Brown was the undertaker in charge.
Interment was made in Oakland Cemetery of this place.
Out of town relatives who attended the funeral service of Mrs. Ida Dunlap were Mr. and Mrs. John Binghamn, of Indianapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dreher, Joseph Dreher Jr., Mrs. Herman Mayer, Miss Agatha Mayer, Joseph Mayer, Mrs. Wm. Shephard of Terre Haute; John Dunlap of Montgomery, Alabama,Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Sutton and son Jack of South Bend. Many other relatives were kept away because of flood conditions.
