Emily Blickenstaff Pressley, a resident of Asheville, NC died May 18, 2007. She was a native of Cerro Gordo, IL and was the daughter of the late David and Emma Mohler Blickenstaff. She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Eugene Pressley, who died in 1959, and a daughter, Nancy Pressley Norman Finger, who died in 2001. Her son John Norman Pressley died in 2009.
Emily was the last of eight children. She received an Associates Degree from Blackburn College in Southern Illinois and belonged to the Women’s Army Corp. She was a member of West Canton Baptist Church and an innkeeper at Lake Junaluska Methodist Assembly until 1985. Committal services were held May 24, 2007, at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde, NC with the Reverend Wallace Britt and Reverend Joe Steadman officiating.
