"Col. Thomas Potts was one of 13 children of John Potts, the founder of Pottstown. He was married to Anna Nutt at Coventry. During the Revolutionary War, he was indefatigable in his efforts, both in personal service and by his money, to bring the cause of the colonists to a successful issue."
