US Congressman. Served in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Elected to represent Maryland's 5th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1809 to 1815. Also served as a Member of the Maryland State House of Delegates from 1794 to 1796, Member of the Maryland State Senate in 1814, Presidential Elector from Maryland in 18120, and County Judge.
