GILLIS, - At the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Chilcote, at Butler, Ind., Thursday morning, April 13, of paralysis, Thomas Gillis, aged 77 years and 23 days.
CHILCOTE, - At Milford, Ind., April 12 1893, of paralysis, Hethcoat Chilcote, aged 83 years, 2 months and 20 days.

In another column of this paper may be see the death notices of Thomas Gillis and Hethcoat Chilcote. They had been more or less intimately associated during the past thirty years, and died within hours of each other. Their funerals were conducted as one, and they were laid to rest in the same cemetery at Edgerton, within a few minutes of each other. In 1863 Mr. Gillis bought the farm of Mr. Chilcote, near Clarksville, and the home of the latter became the home of the former. Their children, John Chilcote and Eliza Gillis, united in marriage a few years later, and they with their sons and daughters were present at the double funeral. Husband and wife each mourning the loss of a father, while their children grieved over the death of two grandfathers.
