TOWNSEND -- Brian G. Nash, Sr., 63, of Townsend, formerly of Leominster, died unexpectedly Monday, May 23, 2011 at Health Alliance -- Leominster Hospital.

Mr. Nash was born in Leominster, December 20, 1947, one of seven children born to Fred D. and Marjorie (Ellis) Nash and has resided in Townsend for nearly forty years.

For nineteen years, Mr. Nash worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for the Leominster Department of Public Works, retiring in 2008.

He was a 1968 graduate of Leominster Trade High School and in the late 1980's coached Youth Football in Townsend and Lunenburg. He was a former member of the Leominster Sportsman's Club and The Leominster Lodge of Eagles.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ann M. (Smith) Nash; two sons, Brian G. Nash Jr., and Michael J. Nash both of Fitchbur; two sisters, Karen Smith, Gail Melanson; 3 grandchildren, Savannah Nash, Braden Nash and Bobby Colgate.

He was the brother of the late Fred Nash III, Marcia Dykes and Brenda Gilmour all of Leominster and Bruce Nash Sr. of Greenville, NH.
