FITCHBURG -- Gail A. (Nash) Melanson, 67, of Fitchburg, died November 19, 2011 in her home.

Gail was born in Leominster on April 14, 1944, daughter of the late Marjorie (Ellis) and Fred D. Nash.

She worked as hair dresser for Talk of the Town Salon in Leominster. She also worked for Avery Dennison for 20 years, before her retirement. She enjoyed roller skating and playing practical jokes. She also liked to collect bells and complete cross word puzzles.

Gail is survived by her husband John Melanson of Fitchburg; sister, Karen Smith and her husband Robert of Rutland; 18 nieces and nephews, and her two cats, Patches and Smokey.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Brenda Gilmour and Marcia Dykes both of Leominster; brothers, Bruce Nash of Greenville, NH, Fred D. Nash III of Leominster, and Brian Nash of Townsend.

MELANSON -- A Memorial Service will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd, Fitchburg, on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
