Death Overtakes Pioneer Aged Ninety-Two Years

After enjoying rare health for 92 years, Mrs. Jane Carter, a resident of Montana for 34 years, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Brown, in the rear of 308 West Quartz Street, aged 92 years. She had been ill four months.

With her husband, the late George G. Carter, she came to Wolf Creek from Nova Scotia in 1880. The town of Carterville was named after her husband.

Surviving relatives are two daughters, Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Flanders of Boston, who was en route to Butte to visit her mother for the first time in 20 years when she received word of her death; three sons, Peter and George of Butte and James W. of Missoula.

The body will be taken to Wolf Creek tomorrow for burial beside the body of her husband.

The grave is in a small fenced area with a sign for Jane and George Carter. She was the wife of George Carter.
