Bridt Grytnes Branstad was born Feb. 9, 1830 in Oksendal, Norway. On June 10, 1862 she married Nels E. Branstad. To this union 5 children were born, 3 survive: Bridt (Mrs. O. M. Peterson) of Leland; E. N. of Forest City and Peder N. of Hoquiam, Wash. Endre died in infancy, Mildred nee Mrs. P. G. Kloster of Forest City died in 1914. In 1899 she and her husband came to America settling in Forest City, June 6, 1899. Her husband died at Leland in 1904. In 1916 she came to Forest City to make her home with her son, E.N. Branstad. She died at Forest City on Sept. 7, 1922, age 92 years and 7 months. Besides her children, the deceased is survived by a sister, Mrs. Dodi Branstad of Leland. Her brother, Halvor Grytnes; died only 2 months ago. Interment made in the Leland cemetery. (Forest City Summit, Sept. 14,1922)
