Jakob Amerseder was born into a large catholic german family and was adopted at and early age by relatives, but retained his birth name. During the time of hitler he served as a postman in schleching,traunstein,baveria and was one of the first to be issued a truck to deliver the mail. He was introduced into showbusiness by some of his family as a youth and his career as a tenor saw him performing in many operas throughout germany and europe before, during and after world war 2.
He had a self produced, unpublished solo album of opera music produced at age 60. He also performed as a concert pianist in germany. His telivison career can be seen in episodes of the "Der Kammisar" series and comedy shorts like "Der Funfer" which have been rebroadcast on ZDF television and are found referenced on imdb. He was also known for print advertising for products such as german made whiskey.
He died from complications of a stroke in 1981. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife Anna and daughters Erna Ramsey of oklahoma and Rosina Pfeiffer of munich.
