HOOKSTOWN - Alice McNary, of Hookstown, quietly passed away to be with her Lord at 84 years, Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, in the presence of her beloved children.
Born in Posen, Mich., on Sept. 17, 1926, she was the daughter of Ignatius and Constance Szatkowski. After her marriage to her husband, William, Alice moved to the Hookstown area to raise her cherished family.
William preceded her in death in 1974.
A woman of faith and love, Alice was a retired cook and custodian from the South Side Area School District. She proudly served in the American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Hookstown and faithfully attended Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church of Chester.
She is survived by her eight children, Linda (James) Parnell, Elaine (Terry) Berger of East Liverpool, George (Cindy) McNary of New Castle, Pa., Kathleen (Al) Lazzaro of Cape Coral, Fla., William (Debbie) McNary Jr., John (Tammy) McNary, Thomas (Madeline) McNary, James (Carol) McNary; and 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery.
