Harvey Leake Jr., 80, of Jacksonville, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
He was born May 20, 1929, in Morgan County, the son of Allen H. and Jessie T. Thies Leake. He married Anna Lisenbee on Sept. 3, 1950, in Jacksonville, and she survives.
He is also survived by three children, Sheryl Nichols (husband, David) of Murrayville, Richard Leake (wife, Cynthia) of Jacksonville and Danna Myers (former husband, Doug) of Littleton; 11 grandchildren, Heather, Hannah, Travis and Jared Leake, Ryan, Devin, Greg, Mackenzie and Dwight Nichols and Rachel and Jessie Myers; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Brune of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a great-grandchild.
A 1947 graduate of Jacksonville High School, Mr. Leake was employed for 20 years at Bound To Stay Bound Book Bindery and later at Hertzberg-New Method Book Bindery for 25 years, retiring as plant manager in 1995. He was a member of Central Christian Church and Harmony Lodge 3 AF & AM. In 1963, he served as worshipful master of Jacksonville Lodge 570 AF & AM. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.
