Britta Anderson was born in Värmland, Sweden, on March 19, 1847. She grew to womanhood there and was married to John M. Johnson in January 1868. In 1889 the family came to America, locating in Lake Mary Township. They made their home there ever since, except for 12 years spent in North Dakota.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by the bereaved husband and four daughters: Martha (Mrs. Algot Nelson), Stina (Mrs. Nelson), Hanna (Mrs. Larson), all of Holmes City, and Inga (Mrs. Pearson) of Hoffman. Five children preceded her in death. She leaves 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Two brothers also survive her.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 21 at 2:00 o'clock at the Swedish Lutheran Church (Trinity) in Holmes City; Rev. Walfrid officiating. Miss Anna Johnson sang a solo "Han Skall Oppna Parle Porten" and Margie Virkennes sang "Nearer My God To Thee" and "Rock of Ages".
Burial was in the White Garden Cemetery. The pall bearers were Peter Larson, Louis Larson, John Larson, Archie Nelson, Nels Nelson and Reuben Nelson.
