Anna immigrated to America from Bohemia in 1867 with her parents, Frank and Josephine Panka. They arrived in Phildelphia, PA, on 27 Jun 1867 on the Bremer Bark "Orpheus."
They lived in Chicago, Il, and then moved to Prairie du Chien, WI.

At the age of 19 she married John Skopec. They had seven children. While in Chicago they lived at 728 17th, and after John's death the family lived at 723 Throop in Chicago, IL

On 21 Dec 1900 she purchased 80 acres of land in Michigan which was adjacent to the farm owned by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Wacha. It was located in Orleans Twp, Ionia Co, MI and contained part of the Dickerson Creek. It was
owned in joint with her sons Frank, James, Joseph and William.
The farm was free of mortgage. She also purchased an additional 48 acres in Otisco Twp, Ionia Co, and she later gave this to her son William when he married in 1910. She moved to her farm with her sons Frank and James. Her son-in-law, John Wacha, built the farmhouse.

AGED LADY DIED
"Mrs. Anna Skopec, aged 79 years, long time resident of the Kiddville district, passed away at her home Sunday night at about midnight. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery. William, Mike, Jim and John Skopec and Mrs. John Wacha are sons and daughter of the deceased. Mrs. Skopec was a native of Austria."
