Stephen LeRoy, son of Stephen and Georgia Allard, was born near Kensington, Kan., April 10, 1887, and departed this line June 10, 1958 at the Memorial hospital in Smith Center as a result of a tractor accident. He had reached the age of 71 years, 2 months.
..He was united in marriage to Mae Smith at the home of her father, G. E. Smith at Kensington March 3, 1909. To this union were born two children, a son Burton S. Allard, Athol, Kan., and a daughter, Mildred Georgia McFadden of Houston, Tex.
..Most of his life was spent in or near Kensington, on the farm, and for a number of years he was engaged in the garage business having the agency for Dodge and Studebaker automobiles.
..In 1950 he built their present home in Kensington and lived here until his death.
..He was only three years of age when his father passed away. Also preceding him in death were his mother, in 1921, his brother, and four sisters.
..Surviving are his wife, son, Burton and wife, Bernadine, his daughter, Mildred and husband, Lawrence McFadden, granddaughter Carolyn Jean Clark and husband, Thomas Clark and great grandson, little Larry Thomas Clark of Houston, Tex., one sister Mrs. Bessie Bierman, Phillipsburg, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
..Funeral services were held Friday, June 13 at 2 p.m., at the Simmons-Olliff Funeral Home.
..Rev. F. M. McDonald officiated. Mary Anthony and Ruby Kasson sang the funeral hymn with Mrs. Lew Bierman accompanist. the casketbearers were Ray Schoeni, Gus Bierman, Jess Rice, Louie Emme, John Fessler and Raymond Thomm. Interment was in the Olive Branch cemetery.
