..Bessie was the seventh child in a family of nine children, all of whom preceded her in death.
..Dress designing and making was her favorite hobby. She spent sometime trimming hats at the Millinery shop. Bessie helped her sister manage a hotel in Smith Center, Kans.
..She became a member of the Christian Church at an early age.
..On May 10, 1905 Bessie was united in marriage to Julius Bierman. They made their home south of Kensington where they were engaged in farming.
..In December, 1955 they retired to their present home in Phillipsburg. On May 10, 1968 they observed their 63rd wedding anniversary.
..Mrs. Bierman was devoted to her family and home.
..She is survived by her husband, Julius of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Olin C. Snair, Burlington, Ia.; Mrs. Eula C. Gray, Wichita, Kans.; four grandchildren, Douglas Glenn Gray, Salina, Kans.; Mrs. Bill Young, Longmont, Colo., Mrs. John Stumme, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. William Groves, Boston, Mass.; and one great-grandson, Marc Douglas Gray, Salina and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
..Memorial services were held Friday, May 17 in the olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Macy and the Rev. Franklin Witter officiating.
..Hymns were sung by Mrs. Larry Burns and John Bomgardner, accompanied by Mrs. Jerry Goad.
..Casket bearers were Jess Smith, John Kennis, Martin Oliva, George Oliva, Warren Stanhope and Gerald Bienhoff.
..Interment was in the Olive Branch cemetery, Kensington, Kans.
