LEBANON, Va, - Carrie Grace White, age 89, died Sunday, Dec, 14, 2008, at home.
Born Oct. 20, 1919, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Stuart and Lille
Meade and wife of the late Elmer White. She attended Flat Rock Community Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded In death by a son, Bobby
White; sister, Lucy McFadden; and brothers, Junior, Kemper, Otto and Verlin Meade,
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Kiser and husband Tippy Joe, Lebanon; grandsons,
Jerry Shepard and wife Kathy, KnoxvIHe, Tenn., and Brian Shepard, Lebanon;
granddaughter, Pat Klser and husband Dean, Bristol Tennessee; great-granddaughter,
Nikki Shepard, Knoxville; great-grandson, Dalton Deskins, Bristol; brother, Marshall
Meade and wife Phyllis, Lebanon; sisters, Virginia Almany, Madia Hawkins and Evelyn
Carty and husband Bill, all of Bristol Virginia, and Shirley Chafln and husband R.C.,
Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Helen Rose and Gaylene
Reynolds.
The funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, in the Combs Funeral
Service Chapel, with Landon Whited, chaplain, and the Rev. Austin Fields officiating, The
family wili receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, prior to the
service at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, in the
Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Those attending are requested to meet at the funeral home
by 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Chafln, Robert Cross, James Dale Jr., Tippy Joe Kiser, Jerry
Shepard, Harvey McFadden, Donald Bailey Jr. and Corey Chafin. Honorary pallbearer will
be Brian Shepard.
