George L. Dreier, 79, of 328 Mill St., Howards Grove, died at his home Wednesday night.
He was born Aug. 29, 1904 at Howards Grove, a son of Louis and Jennie Quehl Dreier. On Sept. 9, 1936, he married Adeline Karsteadt in Iowa. They farmed the homestead farm, semi-retiring in 1967. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Town of Herman, the church brotherhood, and served on the church consistry. He was also a member of Howards Grove Fire Department for 54 years and was assistant fire chief for seven years, on the board of directors for 24 years and vice president 15 years.
Survivors are his wife; one brother, Walter of Howards Grove; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Reichert of Johnsonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Town of Herman. The Rev. Herbert Feierabend, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
