Louis Dreier

Louis Dreier, 79, a life-long resident of the town of Herman, died late Sunday afternoon at his home in Howards Grove after a lingering illness.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dreier, he was born March 28, 1871, was confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran church, and was married to Jennie Quehl in the town of Sheboygan Falls on March 22, 1899.

He was engaged in farming until his retirement six years ago. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on March 22 of this year.

Mr. Dreier was a director of the State Bank of Howards Grove since it was founded, served on the school board for many years, was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in the town of Herman and a member of the church council for 18 years.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Esther) Berth, Howards Grove, and Mrs. Elmer (Mildred) Reichert of Town Sheboygan Falls; two sons, Walter and George, Howards Grove, and two grandchildren.

One son, two sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran church in the town of Herman. The Rev. Herman Kuether, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be made in the church cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral home at Howards Grove from 10 a.m. Tuesday to 11 a.m. Wednesday and may be viewed at the church from Wednesday noon until the time of the services.
