Eugene L. Brisby, formerly city clerk of New Albany, died at St. Edward's hospital where he had been confined for several weeks following an operation for a complication of diseases. He was forty-two years old and leaves a wife. He was a son of Mrs. Mary E. Brisby and is survived by one brother, Frank Brisby, and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Smith and Mrs. Stella Treser. He was elected clerk by the Democrats in 1902 and served four years and prior to his last illness had been employed as a deputy in the office of Township Assessor William Bigler. - New Albany Evening Tribune 15 Jun 1908
