MRS. J. D. STERNER DIES IN 78TH YEAR
Hanover Junction, March 8 – Mrs. Leah Glatfelter Sterner, wife of Jacob D. Sterner, who has been an invalid the past ten years, died at her home at this place, last evening at 9:30 o'clock. Death followed a sickness of a complication of diseases. She was aged 77 years, 10 months and 29 days.
Besides her husband she leaves two children, Mrs. George Messersmith, Glen Rock RD, and Charles Sheffer, of this place; one brother, Peter K. Glatfelter of Neimans, and the following step-children: Mrs. Elma Aldinger, York RD 9; Mrs. Cora Albright, of Glen Rock RD; Mrs. Lydia Miller, Glen Rock; Clarence Sterner, Brillhart; Mrs. Rosa Brodbeck, York Haven RD 1; Mrs. Ida Grothey, Glen Rock; Mrs. Katie McCleary, Glen Rock RD; Mrs. Augusta Pascoe, McSherrystown; Mrs. Minnie Harbold, Spring Grove, and Harry Sterner, Larue.
The funeral will be held on Saturday with short services at her late home at 10 a.m., followed by concluding services in Shaffer's Union Church, near here. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. W. H. Ehrhart, pastor of the Jefferson Lutheran charge, will officiate and will be assisted by Rev. Earl E. Redding, United Brethren pastor, of Jefferson. Funeral Directors George W. Geiple and Son of Glen Rock, have charge of the funeral.
