He was the first son of Archibald Stewart Taylor and Nancy Ann Bray. He died of yellow fever in Port Rogers, Thompson Island, West Indies,[later Key West, FL] a midshipman in the U.S. Navy. He was reintered at Clinton, and was supposedly the first burial in the cemetery.
