Frances and Henry apparently spent a few years in Franklin County, Vermont where at least two of their oldest children were born. Before the 1840 census they settled in East Hamburg (now Orchard Park), Erie County, where Henry bought a farm. There they spent the rest of their lives.
Frances is buried with her husband Henry Richards in Woodlawn Cemetery. In the same lot are Frances and Henry's daughter, Mary Ann Richards Lindsay, Mary Ann's daughter Ida, and Emma and Fred Wunsch. Emma was also a daughter of Mary Ann. Emma was raised by her grandparents after her mother died in 1869 and used Richards as her surname.
