James Blair, son of Mrs. Jane Blair, died at 12:30 this afternoon, while crossing the railroad tracks between his mother's home and the city. Mr. Blair was born nearly forty-one years ago, and would have celebrated his birthday on the 5th of July. He had lived here many years, his father and two brothers having died here. Mr. Blair was a single man, and was one of the best known men of the city. He was feeling badly today, and a little after noon told his mother that he would walk up town. While he was crossing the tracks, the nearest way to the city from his home, he was seen to totter and reel, and fell between the tracks, striking his head against the wheel of a cart used by the store department of the railroad at the shops here. It was thought, however, that his heart ceased to beat and he fell forward.

This is the second death among the sons of Mrs. Blair within the past twelve months, John Blair having died a few months ago. James Blair leaves his mother, three sisters, Mrs. Frank Cooms, Miss Maggie Blair, of Blair & Travelle, and Mrs. Tafft, of California, and one brother, William.
