Mr. Doernbach retired after 33 years of service as a carpenter for the Atlantic City Carpenters' Union Local No. 623.
He worked for Doernbach Homes, then for Pacemaker Yacht, and more recently at Merv Griffin's Resorts Casino Hotel.
He was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church of Egg Harbor City, the Redmen Kickapoo Tribe in Egg Harbor City, ans was a former member of the Egg Harbor City Grange.
Mr. Doernbach was also an avid fisherman.
Born in Egg Harbor City, he was a lifelong area resident.
He is survived by two brothers, Frederick Jr. of Absecon and Walter E. Sr. of South Egg Harbor: two sisters, Dorothy S. Kitz and Ferdinanda S. Corbett, both of Cherry Hill. A nephew and God-son Walter E.Doernbach, Jr.
