Carolyn was born in Altus, OK., and moved to San Diego, CA. as a small child. First to La Mesa, and then to North Park. She graduated from Hoover High School in 1950. Married her high school sweetheart, Homer "Wayne" McWilliams, on 06 Jul 1951. The couple moved to Barstow, where Wayne was stationed in the USMC.
Carolyn obtained her real estate license, working for C & C Realty in Kearny Mesa. Later the office relocated to Serra Mesa and eventually became a Century 21. She loved, and was great at selling real estate...oftentimes being the office's top seller.
Carolyn was a wonderful wife and mother, trueblue friend, and had a love for foreign travel, especially cruises. She loved to travel with her husband and family at every opportunity. She had a huge heart and gave, gave, gave to so many. She made many trips to orphanages in Baja California, Mexico to bring food, clothing, and other items to the children.
Preceded in death by her 1st daughter, Patricia (McWilliams) Maiorano, in 1974. Survivors included her husband of 26 years, Homer Wayne McWilliams, son Kim (21), daughter Marla (13), parents Oliver and Elta Young, grandson Wayne Maiorano, and sister Pamela (Young) Corbin, extended family, and many friends.
Graveside service and interment 01 Sep 1977 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, San Diego, CA.
