Nelrose Helen McWilliams nee Parham, (67) passed away at home on Nectarine Ct., Henderson, NV., from lung and breast cancer on 16 Jan 2006.
Nel was born at home (2014 Abbott St) in the San Diego, CA. neighborhood of Ocean Beach. Kearny High School class of 1955 (or 1956). Nel married Glenn R Tuttle in the mid-1950's, and divorced in 1973. The couple had 2 children and lived in Kearny Mesa. Briefly married to James Kendall Whitus in 1974, the couple lived in Pearl City, HI., with the marriage annulled. In 1978, Nel married widower, Homer "Wayne" McWilliams. They lived in Kearny Mesa, and then in Bay Park.
Nel was a stay at home mom. In the 1970's, she became a waitress at Ricky's on Balboa Ave. in Kearny Mesa, and also at Sheldon's on Mission Bay Dr. in Pacific Beach in the late 1970's - mid-1980's. In the 1990's, Nel was the Manager of The Flower Corner, her step-daughter's flower shops in Clairemont Mesa, and Ocean Beach. She was very creative and loved making the flower arrangements. In her spare time, Nel would make stuffed animals.
Both she and her husband Wayne loved to play slot machines, and they moved to Las Vegas, NV., then back to San Diego, and finally to Henderson, NV..
Nel was preceded in death by her parents, George B. Parham and Helen (Koch) Parham, and her husband Wayne McWilliams. Survivors include son John Tuttle, daughter Glenda Tuttle, a brother (Parham), step-son Kim McWilliams, step-daughter Marla (McWilliams) Fryman, (step-)grandchildren Wayne Maiorano, Erica Fryman, Kevin Fryman, Jessica McWilliams, Jaimie McWilliams, niece Julie Parham, and her beloved toy poodle "Bo".
