His Obituary reads:

EVER ERICKSON IS CALLED BY DEATH

In the death of Ever Erickson the community has lost one of its most familiar figures. For some years past Mr. Erickson has not been engaged in any sort of labor on account of his age, but has been able to get about and has always taken a keen interest in the activities of the community. He was a very close observer and a good listener but not given to expressing his own opinions and ideas unless solicited so to do. He had very decided views however on most subjects of general interest and could give interesting information regarding most subjects.

He was a very faithful and regular attendant at divine services and has attended the various churches of the town at different times.

Ever Erickson was born Dec. 5, 1834 in Hajland {sic}, Norway; came to America with his parents in 1842 and settled in Wisconsin. Came to Lyon county, Iowa in 1884. Was married to Annie Johnson in 1864, who preceded him to the grave. Died in Inwood, Iowa, Aug. 22, 1919, aged 84 years, 8 months, 7 days.

He leaves surviving two half-brothers, Ole and Chris Erickson, of Inwood, Iowa, and five children, John H. Erickson, Inwood, Iowa; Mrs. H.C. Korender, Caruther, Sask., Mrs. N.C. Elliott, Otis, Colo.; Mrs. P.M. Porter, Lindsay, Calif.; Chris Erickson, Inwood, Iowa.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, Aug. 24th at the Lutheran church in this city by Rev. N. O. Peterson and interment was made in the Inwood cemetery beside the dear wife who preceded him some years ago to the heavenly home.

Ever's mother was Anne Povelsdtr Solberg (his father's first wife) - who died 25 May 1837 in Hadeland, Norway (Info from the Hadeland Lag files) {Contributed by Lindalee #47950808}
