Mrs. Sybil was born February 4, 1921, in Cedar Grove, Louisiana to the late William O. Cobb, Sr. and LoDuskie Gibbs Cobb and was called to her heavenly home September 10, 2011, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a member of St. John Cathedral. Sybil enjoyed gardening, traveling with her late husband; Dr. Michael Balistrella of whom she met through the Hospice Volunteer group. They would visit many homes as volunteers to deliver flowers and little satin pillows that Sybil had handmade, giving her great pleasure providing joy to other individuals during their time of need. Sybil will be remembered as a fun-loving person that enjoyed pleasing others.
Sybil was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Robert Calvin Saffel and Dr. Michael Balistrella; one daughter, Patricia Saffel Henninger; and one son, James Saffel; two siblings, Mary Piazza and W. O. Cobb, Jr. Left to cherish the wonderful memories of Sybil will be one son, Richard Saffel and wife Cindy; two daughters, Barbara Langley and husband Fred and Robertine Clayton and husband Wayne; two sisters, Ruth Moore and Corinne Cryer and husband Leo; along with numerous extended family members and many great friends.
