She moved to Acorn Acres in Red Oak in May 1980. Lela was a member of Red Oak Monday Club, Faith Rebekah Lodge #174 of Red Oak, Old Neighbors Club and First United Methodist Church in Red Oak. She died at Red Oak Samaritan Center following a brief illness.
