Per her death certificate found on Ancestry.com: (the dates of birth and death conflict with those on her marker and will be used for this memorial as death certificates are legal documents): she was a daughter of L. H. Alford and Galvin McCracken, both born in Horry Co. She was married at the time of her death but her spouse is not named. She died of peritonitis contributed by probably salpingitis. The informant was L. H. Alford of Galivants Ferry.

Suggestion from a Find A Grave contributor: She is listed with her parents on the 1910 census, Horry Co., as Golda B. Alford, age 12; and on the 1920 census, Horry Co., with her father (mother deceased) as Golda Alford, age 18. Perhaps the engraver left out the D in her name. Note: son Jesse Alford's obituary lists his mother as Golie Alford, no "d"(The State, 08 May 1994).
