Mark Douglas Stanley was born July 28, 1943, at Terry, the son of Mark and Jean Smith Stanley. He attended schools at Ismay, Sacred Heart School in Miles City and St. Mary's School in New England ND.
He was a cowboy on various ranches and was also a saddle maker.
He and Mary Cecelia Haughian were married May 24, 1969, at Miles City. They operated Stanley Trenching until illness forced him to retire.
He was a member of the Terry Roping Club.
Mr Stanley, 45, passed away December 29, 1988 at the rest home of multiple sclerosis.
Survivors include his wife of Miles City; a son, Simon, and a daughter, Kate, both of the family home; and his parents of Miles City.
