Wolf--Died, Thursday morning, Oct.
28, at St John's hospital: August Wolf,
aged 64 years.
Mr. Wolf's death was due to a
stroke of paralysis, which attacked
him on Veteran's day at the state fair
grounds. He was removed from the
fair grounds to the hospital and had
since been confined there. Mr. Wolf
was born in Wismar, Germany. When
a young man he came to this country.
In 1862 he enlisted as a United States
Navy volunteer and served as a seaman
during the rebellion. At the close of
the war he removed to Illinois and had
since lived in this state. He was a
resident of this city for a long number
of years and was held in high esteem by
a large circle of friends. He is sur-
vived by his widow, five sons and two
daughters.
The remains were taken to the home
of his son, 429 West Calhoun Avenue.
The funeral will take place at 8:30
o'clock Saturday morning from the
residence and at 9 o'clock at St.
Joseph's Catholic church on North Sixth
Street. The interment will be in Calvary
Cemetery.
