PNEUMONIA IS FATAL TO ROY FARMER, 57 - Roy Farmer, 57, who made his home on the Robert L. Spalding farm on the Sulphur Springs Road, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday at Mary Immaculate Hospital where he had been under treatment a week for bronchial pneumonia. He had been ill about three weeks. He had been in failing health for some time and retired from active farming five or six years ago. He was born in Marion County, a son of the late John and Millie Cox Farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cordelia Molohon Farmer; two sons, Henry and Roy Thomas Farmer, Lebanon; a daughter, Mrs. Jesse Underwood, Columbus, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren. Another son, Raymond Farmer, died last year. Seven sisters survive. They are Mrs. James Wheeler and Mrs. Claudia Byrd, Louisville; Mrs. Lettie Biggs, Waco, Texas; Mrs. Charlie Riley, Mrs. Ida Malone, Mrs. Eva Mattingly and Mrs. Nannie Simpson, Lebanon. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. A. B. Colvin, were held at 2 p.m. yesterday at Drye Funeral Home. Burial was in Ryder Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lawrence Sallee, Cecil Jeffries, Ed Jeffries, Bill Brady, Marvin Skaggs and Lucien Mattingly.
