Claude was united to Nora Elizabeth Clark on Nov. 25, 1896.

Portland Observer, September 1916: "C. D. (Claude Dwight) Lakin was one of the few auto junk yards in the county. He recently bought a Winton automobile from Lorenzo Webber for $55. Originally it had cost $2700 in 1907."

Portland Observer, published on August 28, 1912: Claude Lakin has purchased the produce business founded by his father, William Dwight (W. D.) Lakin, but more recently conducted by Arthur S. Nunneley, who now retires to give his whole attention to his creamery business.
